What does an Umbrella company do?

Some useful info if you've never worked via an umbrella company before - or if you'd like a refresher!

Being paid via an umbrella company is the most straightforward way of being paid for the majority of contractors as we manage timesheets, contracts and payments.

An umbrella company directly employs contractors and freelancers on short to long term assignments and makes Pay As You Earn (PAYE) and National Insurance contributions as your employer to HMRC, which means no unexpected tax bills.

An Umbrella company is different to a PAYE employer because the income we receive (the contract rate) is inclusive of our employment costs and holiday pay.

You'll get a consistent employment record (a big plus for mortgage and loan applications) and also an employment contract with access to statutory employee entitlements such as a workplace pension, holiday pay and maternity / paternity pay.

Whether you're new to contracting and looking for the simplest way to get paid, or are a limited company contractor who has been affected by the April 2021 off payroll working legislation, Nasa Umbrella can help.

Nasa processes thousands of payments each week and have helped thousands of people, both those who have been long term limited company contractors, and those who are new to contracting.

We're very well established too, having started our umbrella journey in 2009. We're also accredited by the FCSA, so you can restassured we are compliant with all relevant legislation.
